
Built in the 1876 in order to exapand the ancient “Collegio Melleriano” (founded by Count Mellerio in the 1818 and donated to the Rosminians in the 1837), the Mellerio – Rosmini College is a huge and historical building in which there are many important cultural institutions, well known in Domodossola and in Italy for their high cultural level and for the hosted schools.From the 1837 to the 1998, the schools hosted in the Mellerio – Rosmini College were directly managed by the Rosminians but, from the 1998 untill now, the schools and most of the other structures have been managed by the Società Cooperativa Mellerio – Rosmini. Even if the Rosminians have left the direction of the school, they still support the school and the teachers and the students who are all educated following the principles of the “Rosminian Spirit”.Currently, the College still maintain its high level of cultural value and his prestige, and in the structure the following institutes and facilities are hosted:
- The Mellerio – Rosmini Cooking High School
- The AliMenta Centre
- The University Courses of Computer System Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Physiotherapy and
Tourist Resource Management organized by the V.C.O University.
- The Domodossola Slow Food Centre
- The Natural History Museum
- Two Libraris containing more than 60.000 books
- Tennis, Volleyball, Football and Basketball facilities, where every year many courses and activities are
organized for the Domodossola primary and secondary school students.
